Services :: User research & usability evaluation

Contextual studies

Learn about your users or customers by seeing how they work in their normal environment. Ethnographic studies like these uncover environmental and context issues that you might never learn about from lab testing, surveying, or phone interviews. Gather user requirements, do user and task analyses, or confirm research you've already done. I'll help you identify sites to visit, create probing questions, and then I'll work with you to interpret and implement the findings.

User and task analysis

What do your users or customers really do with your product? What do they want to accomplish? What keeps users from efficiently performing critical tasks? Observe users and potential users or customers and uncover what they do and how they do it. I'll work with you to identify behaviors and issues to look for, what constitutes sequence and workflow, and then use that information to create a user interface that builds in ease-of-use.

Heuristic evaluations and cognitive walkthroughs

Using industry-accepted guidelines for good design and usability, I'll review and evaluate your product's user interface and return specific feedback about how to make quick improvements.

Usability testing

Set up and run quantitative studies with participants who represent your users performing realistic tasks in a controlled environment. Working with your design and development teams, I'll identify findings, make recommendations, and help build consensus on severity and priority for implementing changes.
